Volunteers are a critical part of the day-to-day functioning of our organization, performing a variety of tasks such as direct work with women and children, hotline advocacy, administrative work, maintenance projects and much more. If you would like to work directly with survivors and their children, No Girl Left Behind has four programs in which you can do so. All of these programs involve crisis intervention, which includes providing emotional support and advocacy, engaging in safety planning and sharing information about domestic violence and sexual assault.
In addition, volunteers are encouraged to participate in No Girl Left Behind's Community Education and Outreach. There are many ways you can devote your time to making a difference for your neighbors.
Rewarding volunteer opportunities at No Girl Left Behind include:

Hotline counselors – Do you have at least one four-hour shift per week, to take place after 5pm weekdays or any time on weekends, to make a difference? Extensive training is provided to all volunteers who work on the hotline.

Education – Represent NGLB at health fairs and fundraising activities, assist with educational presentations to community groups, display clothesline project and assist at educational events.

Office assistant – Answer phones, help with mailings and filing.

Development – Assist in grant research, event planning, grassroots fundraising, and telephone and in-person follow ups, as well as creative projects.

Governing Board members – Individuals who have demonstrated a strong to NGLB and bring particular skills and expertise to enhance the governance, fiscal responsibility, fundraising, and policy matters of the Board may be invited to join. Must attend monthly meetings and serve on committees.
